In-House Training
In-house courses can provide a cost effective solution to companies who would like to train several of their staff on a specific subject.

Inprocess uses a modular approach to courses and seminars. This allows us to readily change the emphasis of a training session to focus on specific areas. Some of our most popular combinations of modules are available in pre-packaged sets, and it is straightforward to add, subtract and re-order modules. On this page, you will find a number of course process simulation examples.

Steady State Process Simulation with HYSYS/UniSim
Three-day introductory level course that emphasizes the basic aspects of both process simulators. Course focus is on reaching a working knowledge of all necessary techniques to build unit operations and simple flowsheet models. Properties; Heat Transfer; Distillation columns; Compressors, pumps and pipelines; Reactors; etc. are among the topics covered in this course.
Industry-Focused Steady State Simulation with HYSYS/UniSim
Inprocess offers several intermediate level courses on the steady state simulation of processes related to the following industries:

* Natural Gas Processing and Conditioning
* Oil Refining
* Oil & Gas Production

Focus is on developing models of processes relevant to the mentioned industries and on exploring the ways the simulator offers to compare and validate design alternatives.
Process Control for Process Engineers using Dynamic Simulation
Process Engineers are heavy users of simulation tools (HYSYS, UniSim, A+, …) to design new processes or revamps. They mainly work in steady-state mode, but frequently they have to interact with the Control Engineers to discuss how the process will be controlled and operated. Then, many process dynamics and control concepts need to be clearly understood by the Process Engineers to effectively design the production process and their corresponding control philosophy
Dynamic Process Simulation with HYSYS/UniSim
Three-day introductory level course on dynamic simulation focused on helping students to acquire the basic knowledge necessary to build dynamic simulation models by transitioning from a steady state prebuilt model or by modifying an existing dynamic one. Fundamental aspects like process dynamics or process control are as well reviewed along the course.
Improving Refinery Operations through Process Simulation
After attending a basic course in process simulation, engineers are faced with the task of developing simulation cases for a specific objective. Whether they have to troubleshoot an operational problem, to monitor the process performance, to improve unit yields or to minimize energy consumption, they have to start the simulation in a completely different environment: overwhelming amount of data, scattered in different sources and sometimes not consistent.
This three-day course has been developed focusing mainly in these aspects: How to identify plant data requirements before developing the process simulation and how to collect and validate such data obtained from the typical refinery sources.
Advanced Steady State Simulation with HYSYS/UniSim
Two-day course of advanced content aimed to help experienced users of HYSYS or UniSim tools that would like to explore some of the still unknown features or who would like to share know-how with inprocess experts. Thermodynamics, depressurization, recycles, columns and others are among the topics covered at advanced level.
Steady State Process Simulation with Aspen Plus
This course, with an average duration of three days, constitutes the core of a typical introductory course for chemical and process engineers, providing the basic informations required to guide users in the modelling and simulation of steady state processes
Physical Properties Applications with Aspen Plus
This one day course is targeted to process engineers and chemists with a sound thermodynamic theory and practical background for the accurate description of physical properties and phase equilibria of fluid mixtures for for process simulation. The course concentrates on the operative hands-on aspects of computing, reporting and plotting physical properties in Aspen Plus
Equation Oriented Process Simulation with Aspen Plus
One-day training course covering the advanced features of Aspen Plus, which can be useful for process engineers handling large, complex flowsheets. The first part of the course covers the mathematical theory and the Aspen Plus specific background for the simultaneous resolution of process flowsheets. The second part of the course concentrates on the operative, hands-on aspects of the simultaneous resolution of loop processes in Aspen Plus thanks to the supplied exercises.
Polymers Process Simulation with Aspen Polymers
This three-day course covers the theory and practice of using the simulator for the steady state modeling of processes involving polymers. For the sake of flexibility, it is divided into three units: Simplified Modeling; Modeling with Aspen Polymers; and Reaction Kinetic Modeling with Aspen Polymers
Unsteady State Process Simulation with Aspen Plus Dynamics
This course covers, in an average of three days, the key concepts of mass and energy balances of dynamic processes and introduces the attendees to the practical use of Aspen Plus Dynamics to model processes focusing on improving their controllability and safety. The last day of the course is devoted to the design and rating of pressure relief systems of vessels, reactors and other units using Aspen Dynamics.
